Ethelbert the Orca

Before Sea World; before Free Willy; before any kind of wildlife conservation had ever been considered, professional whalers saw Orcas as vicious sea predators and competition for salmon. In the 1930s, one baby Orca (nick-named Ethelbert by the residents of Portland) swam up the Columbia River and wound up pickled on a Washington mountain.

This is one of those Mossback episodes that is too fantastic to be fiction. Featuring illustrations by Levi Hastings.
